"The Fed's QT will shrink its balance sheet quickly. The shift of deposits to money funds has been a slow process. Government money market fund assets have been fairly steady as of July 27, at $4.025 trillion, up about 0.1% from a week earlier, data from the Investment Company Institute showed. To be sure, there are other factors that have contributed to the decline in bank reserves, such as asset re-allocations and loan demand, analysts said. In the Fed's previous quantitative tightening (QT), $1.3 trillion in liquidity was withdrawn in five years. From a peak of nearly $4.3 trillion in December last year, bank reserves have declined about 23%. These are deals so good that they only come around once in a lifetime. Sometimes we call these the “white whale” or “unicorn” deal. There will always be plenty of repo’s coming in and out of bank parking lots but there won’t always be really good deals. That being said, don’t be afraid to explore vehicles you might not have thought would work. You just don’t know what you’re going to get. Buying repossessed cars and trucks is like a box of chocolates sometimes. When sorting through what type of repossessed vehicle to buy it’s important to be open minded as to what you want. Just let the bank know you want to submit your best offer. ![]() If you’re able to locate a repo at a local New York credit union then the rest is pretty straight forward. One of the greatest benefits to buying right from the bank is that you’re dealing with an owner that’s not only motivated to sell, but also has the ability to slash the price and offer teaser interest rates to entice you to buy. That doesn’t mean that buyers can find many good buys on New York bank repo’s in the area. Unfortunately many of the banks and credit unions sell the bulk of their repossessions through dealer only auctions. The State of New York is one of the most populous States in the nation. Most of the voice recorders offer advanced features for students. Knowing what to look for is important to find the perfect voice recorder for you. The practice of digital recording has been used for quite some time to increase the chances for a student to learn more about the content. Recording the entire class lecture is ideal for easy reviewing at a later date. Recording class discussions can give a student another chance to write the notes. The long top tube stretched me out nicely over the bike and kept me in an efficient pedaling position that allowed me to put down some nice wattage.Developed and tested in BC Canada, the heart of mountain bike country, the Norco Optic C1 is an aggressive short-travel full sus MTB that rips on descents and can get back to the top without a gondola. The Optic’s rear suspension remains relatively unaffected by pedaling forces and prevents most pedal-induced diving, both while pedaling in and out of the saddle. The seat-tube angle of 76 degrees was a perfect choice for a trail bike that can be pedaled comfortably up low-angle cross-country trails and still keep the front wheel on the ground during some of our heinous, 18-percent-plus Pacific Northwest trail gradients. But the stars of the spec show were the low-volume, 2.35 Schwalbe tires: With a Magic Mary tread up front, you have cornering grip in steady supply for almost any dirt conditions. ![]() Furthermore, the stopping power of the Shimano BR-MT520 hydraulic brakes was sufficient for a 200-plus-pound rider like me, but the resin pads do raise some concerns for wet, Pacific Northwest rides-and the long, brake-burning descents that the Optic demands. A SRAM GX Eagle drivetrain affords dependable shifting for hundreds if not thousands of hard, off-road miles. The RockShox Pike Select Plus fork delivers excellent traction in a lightweight chassis, while giving some welcome compliance through rough sections of trail. The components on our C2 version cater to aggressive riders, with a RockShox Super Deluxe Ultimate DH rear shock allowing you to push the suspension hard, without fear of overheating or inconsistent damping. My size large had a 435-millimeter chainstay that added stability when my speeds increased through fast sections of singletrack. This can’t be the cheapest way to manufacture a bike, but it pays healthy dividends on the trail. What’s more, Norco adapts the length of the chainstay according to the frame size, which ensures that each rider will have a similar weight distribution across all frame sizes. The frame itself is stable and balanced, with an ample 480 millimeters of reach on my size large, making it one of the longest bikes I’ve ridden. With 140 millimeters of front suspension and 125 millimeters in the rear, the Optic has just enough travel to keep you hanging on to the handlebars through rough terrain, but not so much that you feel numb to the trail beneath you. ![]() My heart was broken when it went back in a box and left the Freehub office. Needless to say, my time on the new Norco Optic C2 felt like a summer fling that was all too short. The 2020 Norco Optic sits squarely in my favorite category of bikes: Those mid-travel trail rigs that blur the lines between a traditional trail bike and an all-mountain brawler. ![]() ![]() ![]() Trial software allows the user to evaluate the software for a limited amount of time. You can see the table above or the video for more detail on other settings, but dynamic resolution and DLSS/FSR provide the vast majority of performance gains here so we'll leave it there for now.īeyond optimised settings, I did spot an issue with PC performance, where sometimes the game flushes several gigabytes of data into video memory, which corresponds with a massive frame-rate drop for an extended period. ![]() Finally, RTAO provides more realistic shadows, but costs around 10 percent performance on an RTX 2060 Super, so I recommend keeping it on for RTX 2080 class hardware or above otherwise disable it. The shadows setting is a rare performance win, so it's worth turning to medium to boost frame-rates at minimal expense. Other settings offer relatively little performance impact, eg lighting quality looks and runs identically among medium, high and ultra - only the low setting is different, looking worse and boosting performance by 20 percent, so I recommend medium. It's not a magic bullet, but it can smooth out performance by dropping resolution a bit. Otherwise, I recommend skipping variable rate shading (VRS) as it hurts performance at internal resolutions (ie before upscaling) below 4K, but dynamic resolution scaling is worth turning on. Interestingly, DLSS and FSR both suffer from an incorrect texture bias setting, which can be fixed on Nvidia GPUs using Profile Inspector - see the video ( 9:53) for details on how to set this up as it is a little complicated. In short, I recommend DLSS over FSR if available on your hardware, as FSR exhibits noticeable particle ghosting and issues with the animated UI in the game world, something not encountered with DLSS or at native resolution with TAA. Now let's tackle optimised settings, summarised in the table below. Unfortunately, there's no way to fix this as a player beyond using a hypothetical future CPU that can just brute-force it, so hopefully it is something that can be fixed in a future patch. The impact and frequency of these spikes increase on slower PCs, with the Ry+ RTX 2060 Super PC exhibiting repeated frame-time spikes of 100ms (six frames) compared to the 33ms spikes on the 12900K + RTX 3080 build. ![]() The first time you do this in a session, the spike is bigger, but it reoccurs each time you cross the same threshold (33ms or two frames, for the example that caused a 150ms spike initially). There is also streaming and traversal-related stutter, where the game exhibits frequent, repeatable and unpreventable frame-time spikes, up to 150ms or nine frames on a Core i9 12900K, when the character crosses individual boundaries on the map and new sections load in. This is a relatively rare, but still disappointing - and unfortunately it doesn't end there when it comes with frame-time spikes. Moreover, the precompilation step seems incomplete even when it does run, as I experienced what appeared to be shader compilation stutters a few times in my playthroughs on different PCs. This is normally good news, as it should help prevent instances of shader compilation stutter, but the implementation here seems flawed - reinstalling a driver and wiping the shader cache doesn't trigger this precompilation step again if you're on the same driver version, so you can run into massive shader compilation stutters this way. This is handled by a precompilation step the first time you start a game, taking a bit more than a minute on a Core i9 12900K and just under three minutes on the more mainstream-orientated Ryzen 5 3600. We'll cover which options are worth changing a little later, but for now let's talk shader compilation. Weirdly though, the menus animate at 30fps, and sometimes performance is lower than expected after making changes - so a full game restart after changing a setting is recommended. Starting with a look at the game's menus, Dead Space is a well-appointed PC port with clearly described options and a background that shows graphical settings changes live - something every PC port should try to emulate. Here's what you need to know about these issues - plus a comparison of PC versus PS5 and optimised settings that boost performance without sacrificing visuals on a range of PC hardware. Like the PS5 and Xbox versions, Dead Space on PC is a brilliant game with some serious issues that unfortunately overshadow what is otherwise a high-quality remake of the 2008 classic. ![]() 8/31/2023 0 Comments Em dash symbol![]() If you are writing an article or essay or paper, no.īut in the latter case, you are probably using Word or another program that will automatically replace two hyphens with an em dash, so you’ll be okay. If you are writing an email to your mom, yes! If you are writing a message to your friend on Instagram, yes! Can I use two hyphens instead of an em dash? If you use the ‘wrong-n’ method and use it consistently, it works fine and seems to keep the greatest number of people happy. You can see this ‘wrong-en’ method used in countless websites, magazines and papers as a replacement for the m-dash. In my writing (as a manager corresponding with government officials and politicians, and also as a marketer communicating with real people) I use ‘space-n-dash-space’ instead of the em-dash – just to keep everyone happy. Some well-trained technical writers think the n-dash is the only one to use.Ĭhoosing between the en dash or em dash is not a big deal. That’s okay – we can find a very good compromise. Sometimes when you use the em-dash, people say, “What is that? I don’t like that big long thing.” I’ve heard that from colleagues and managers. However… Some people prefer the way a “space-en-dash-space” looks. If you are writing formal documents or writing for publication, it’s best to use dashes correctly. “Using dashes is a bit of an ad-n ”, said Jennifer. Here’s another obscure, old-fashioned use for the m-dash: When letters are uncertain or missing from a word that you are quoting or reporting about, you insert two m-dashes where the unknown letters would be. “I reached in and pulled the spray can out of my backpack-” “In front of the police?”
8/31/2023 0 Comments Maschine native instruments serial![]() ![]() While I always admired the old design, which allowed for an extremely sturdy unit capable of taking tonnes of punishment (I have no doubt my old X1s and Audio 8 DJ are still out there somewhere), the new design feels durable. ![]() This thing is basically a single shell with buttons poking out of it. Gone is the wrap around outer shell with the trademark branded lip at the top and bottom of the unit, replaced with a top-and-sides faceplate with very minimal – almost stealth-like – branding and markings. The first thing you’ll notice with all the new Native Instruments hardware is the change in industrial design. NI have kept it more and more simple as the digital age has hit, but what more do you need, really? And honestly, I love it when packaging is elegant in its simplicity. Inside you get your Mikro controller, one of Native Instruments’ branded USB cables (which are actually quite decent quality), and a small black paper envelope with your hardware serial, warnings, quick start flyer, and the all-important Maschine logo sticker sheet. Keeping the electronics dry during transportation is essential, but there are alternatives to polystyrene padding, which I hope will be used in the future. I was a bit disappointed to see NI using polystyrene packing, along with another layer of plastic to bag up the hardware. Opening the box up, you get everything you need to get started (which isn’t much, admittedly). We’ve already spoken about plastic waste in the music industry, so I applaud the Maschine team for that ecologically inclined sentiment. Replaced by naked corrugated card packaging with minimal printing and a couple of stickers stuck on.įor Native Instruments, the change to the new look was partially driven by a desire to be a bit more “eco-friendly, saving on paint, and also cost-savings to the end customer”, to quote.
